Based in Santa Cruz CA, I am a fine art portrait photographer and have taken that experience with me into my wedding work . My approach is very honest. Throughout most of your wedding day, I prefer to let the event unfold as it does around me. This lets me photograph all of the natural moments at the event with a focus on documenting the interactions of you and your partner as well as all of the little moments that you might not see during such a busy day. That said, one of my favorite times during a wedding day is when we get to escape the hustle and bustle and create some beautiful portraits together. Great wedding photography is a combination of natural and curated moments and through both of those I hope to give each of my clients a set of photos that tells the story of their day.

A phrase that really resonates with me is that photographs are like bookmarks to memories. My hope is that you can look back at your wedding photos and not only appreciate the beautiful imagery but also have them spark memories of specific conversations, feelings, and moments with the people you care about. Whether it’s a luminous portrait together basking in the golden hour glow or a dreamy, grainy black and white image of a peaceful moment at the end of the night, these moments are what you’ll be going back to every time you see your photos.

As you can see in my galleries, I proudly shoot the majority of my work on medium format and 35mm film. The inherent beauty of how film captures light is undeniable and the softness, warmth, and natural grain all work together to lend an extra touch of timeless romance to every photo.
