One of the cool things about shooting weddings is that it takes you to local places you didn't know existed. Nicki and Jay had their wedding reception at a cool little venue called the Sheriff's Posse in Santa Cruz. I didn't know anything about it but as soon as I got there I could tell it would be a fun place to shoot. The relaxed atmosphere and warm crowd were great and made it easy for me to walk around and capture everyone interacting. Its nice shooting in later summer because the light tends to go a little warmer in the afternoon/evening which can look really beautiful. Every set of wedding photos has their highlights and for me, those would be the portraits I did of the couple a few minutes before the guests arrived. Having a couple so in love and comfortable showing that in front of a camera makes it a pleasure to shoot some great photos.
